چکیده
was first shown by Henrique and Andersen (1913). Elman and Lischer (1943) administered large amounts of amino-acids and peptides intravenously to men without any ill effects. They were able thus to maintain nitrogen equilibrium in patients who could not take food by mouth. Bassett et al. (1944) report a study of a patient with gastro-jejuno-colic fistula, who was given solutions of amino-acids intravenously and subcutaneously, without clinical disturbance and with satisfactory maintenance of nitrogen equilibrium. Krishnan and others (1944) stimulated by the famine conditions in Bengal in 1943 prepared hydrolysed proteins for parenteral administration in starvation cases. The method of preparation was explained and shown to me by Professor Krishnan at the Institute of Hygiene, Calcutta. The enzyme used for protein hydrolysis is papain which is supposed to contain both proteinase and polypeptidase. Papain acts optimally at pH 5 to 7 and at a temperature of 50?. Papain is produced easily by collecting the latex of the unripe fruits of Carica papaya after scarifying the fruits while still on the tree. By mixing the latex with acetone and drying it repeatedly, an active preparation of papain in powder form can be obtained. Pork which is freed from all fat and

Effects of Goldstrip sardine (Sardinella gibossa) and poultry by-product protein hydrolysate on amino acid composition, growth and alevines survival of rainbow trout (Oncorhynchus mykiss) were investigated. Two hydrolyzed protein sources were incorporated into six diets for start-feeding rainbow trout (Oncorhynchus mykiss) alevines, in 3 different replacing levels (10%, 25% and 50%) of fish mea...
متن کاملComparison the functional properties of protein Hydrolysates from poultry byproducts and rainbow trout
Poultry by-products and rainbow trout (Onchorhynchus mykiss) viscera are abundant and underutilized resources that can be used as a unique protein source to make protein hydrolysates. In this study protein hydrolysate were made from these two different sources with Alcalase 2.4L. The functional properties of Fish viscera protein hydrolysate (FPH) compared to poultry by-products protein hydrolys...
متن کاملEffect of hydrolysis time on the antioxidant activity of Common carp (Cyprinus carpio) head protein hydrolysate
In the present study, the antioxidant activity of different concentrations of protein hydrolysate from Common carp (Cyprinus carpio) head at different hydrolysis time was investigated. For this purpose, 8 Common carp fish with average weight of 0.766±0.034 kg were prepared from market. Fish heads were hydrolyzed by Alcalase (1% v/w at 55˚C and pH 8) at different hydrolysis times (30, 60, 120 an...
